Maintenance Fitter

Work close to home on the Northern Beaches

Our Client is a successful Northen Beaches Based company with a track record for innovative and world leading products.

The Role
As an experienced Maintenance Fitter you will be responsible for the efficient maintenance & repair of facilities, plant & equipment using your troubleshooting skills to determine the best way forward.
Previous exposure to plastic injection moulding machines, their auxiliaries, mobile and fixed plant equipment used in assembly, general welding skills & machine capabilities would be an advantage!

Responsibilities
• Accountable for maintenance & repair (Mechanical & Electrical)
• Lead efforts to upgrade plant/facility for efficiency, safety & reliability
• Follow regulatory, safety & sanitation requirements for plant
• Develop a preventative Maintenance program
• Lead projects involving installation, modification or renovation of plant
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers & monitor or plan jobs to be completed by contractors
• Control costs, scheduling & development of maintenance activities
• Manage repairs, supplies, purchases & budget
• On call for emergency repairs outside regular hours
• Actively attend all maintenance requests and update log
• Attend to all OH&S hazard rectification requests
• Manage maintenance procedures and record as per ISO 9001

Skills & Experience
You will have experience in troubleshooting/problem solving equipment faults, be solutions and quality focused with the following:

• Pneumatics & hydraulics
• Plastic injection moulding machines & their auxiliaries
• General mobile & fixed plant & equipment used in production
• General welding & soldering skills
• General machining capabilities
• General electrical & electronics
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Team player with a proactive approach & ability to prioritise
• High attention to detail & a flexible attitude
• Understanding of the manufacturing process & production priorities
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar role would be ideal!

Qualifications
• Certificate III in Engineering- Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Turner) qualification (mandatory)
• Restricted Electrical Licence
• Australian Motor Vehicle licence and Fork Lift Licence
