Assistant Accountant - Northern Beaches

Our Client is a vibrant and expanding mid-sized business offering a friendly supportive team environment while providing services to a corporate client base.

The Role is perfect for someone with strong understanding of accounting principals, excellent attention to detail, and a desire to grow within a supportive team or alternatively someone retuning from a work break!

Working as part of a small and dedicated team in this hands on role you will be supporting the finance team in day-to-day accounting operations ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial data. You will be responsible for assisting with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger and inventory maintenance and assisting with month end close processes.

Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
• Process and reconcile AP and AR transactions
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in cash management
• GL and inventory maintenance
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Assist in the preparation of GST, BAS and other tax compliance reports
• Assist with month end and year end accounting processes
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external accounts as needed
• Assist with administration and other ad hoc financial tasks

You will be working closely with the finance team to streamline operations improve data accuracy and enhance reporting capabilities.

Skills & Attributes
• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or studying towards
• Previous experience in an accounting role preferably in an SME environment
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (MYOB)
• Excellent attention to detail with strong problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage customer relationships professionally
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• A proactive and positive attitude towards learning and personal development
• Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
